Frequently Asked Questions

What are microgreens?

Microgreens are young vegetable greens harvested just after the first true leaves develop, typically 7-14 days after germination. They're packed with flavor and nutrients—often containing 4-40 times more vitamins and minerals than their mature counterparts. Think of them as baby plants with big nutritional benefits!

How should I store my microgreens?

Store your microgreens in the refrigerator in their original container or a sealed container lined with a paper towel to absorb excess moisture. Keep them between 35-40°F (2-4°C). Properly stored, fresh microgreens typically last 5-7 days. For best flavor and nutrition, enjoy them as soon as possible!

How do I use microgreens?

Microgreens are incredibly versatile! Add them to salads, sandwiches, wraps, and tacos for a nutritional boost. Use them as a garnish on soups, omelets, and main dishes. Blend them into smoothies for extra vitamins. They're best enjoyed raw to preserve their delicate flavors and maximum nutritional value.

Are microgreens the same as sprouts?

No! While both are young plants, they're quite different. Sprouts are germinated seeds eaten whole (seed, root, and shoot) within 2-3 days, grown in water. Microgreens are grown in soil, harvested after 7-14 days, and only the stem and leaves are eaten. Microgreens have more developed flavors and are generally considered safer since they don't include the seed.
